Carvalhais and MacDonald have played together in various combinations over the past three years. While blurring and merging acoustic and electronic sound worlds, the duo form is one in which they both thrive as they explore the possibilities that saxophones and electronics offer. Both use vast palettes of sound and they can move from neo-minimalist stasis to warped liturgical propellant free jazz lyricism while always staying alert to the interrogative improvisational priorities of the moment.
